Spiritual Formation

Working in a cross-cultural, interdenominational context has its own challenges – everyone has different ideas, expectations and comfort zones regarding how to manage their spiritual lives. This is a gift, because in reality, authentic spirituality and honest relating to God cannot be mandated or forced upon people. There is no one way to do things. There is however an invitation. It is an invitation that comes to us all, whoever we are and wherever we come from: ‘Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’

These words of Jesus are an invitation to be with Him. They include an acknowledgment that our realities are sometime, perhaps often, wearisome and hard. The answer to that, says Jesus, is to come to Him and receive His rest.
