Amazon Valley Academy

CURRICULUM: All classes at AVA are taught in English and the curriculum is geared to prepare each student for entry into a college or university in the US or abroad. As in the US, twenty two credits are required for graduation. Some of the required courses are: Computer 1, English 4, Foreign Language 2, Fine Arts 1, Math/Science 5, Social Studies 3, Physical Education 2 years, Bible is required each year a student is enrolled at AVA. /nlAVA seeks to provide the broadest possible offering for elective courses. When faculty is available, the English Department offers 2 electives, the Math/Science Department offers 5 electives, the Social Studies Department offers 2 electives, the Fine Arts Department offers 1 elective, and the Foreign Language Department offers French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. /nlThe new AVA classroom building, being built in the fall of 2011, will house the elementary classrooms, library, computer lab., and media center; and an adjacent gymnasium and snack bar is in the design stage./nlAmazon Valley Academy is located near the mouth of the Amazon River. It is only 300 yds North of BR 316 behind Unama Universidade. The bus stop is within easy walking distance of the campus and only 3K from the City of Belem..
