American International School of Bamako

Curriculum: AISB utilizes American International School Curriculum using up-to-date American textbooks and teaching materials from the United States and around the world. In addition to the regular academic courses, French, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Computer, Music, Drama, Art, and Physical Education are offered. AISB offers an after-school activities program of sports, games, and handicrafts. Facilities: The School has a new, purpose-built library with 9,000 volumes for reference work and for supplemental reading. There is a 16-station iMac computer lab in the elementary and a 10-station computer lab in the Upper School. Construction on a new campus began in the Spring of 2009. The completion date is January 2011. AISB will move into the new facility in April 2011. Phase 1 of the new campus includes the following facilities: classrooms for all primary grades, a secondary campus, athletic facilities, science labs, two computer labs and a wirelessly connected campus, library and performing and visual arts facilities. Phase 2 includes teacher housing, a swimming pool, and additional recreation facilities.
