Sahel Academy

Curriculum: Grades K-6 curriculum covers all core subjects plus Bible, French, Physical Education, Art and Music. Grades 7 & 8 curriculum includes basic subjects as well as Bible, Art, Music, Physical Education, and French. In Grades 9 & 10, all students follow the University of Cambridge International Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) courses. IGCSE meets the requirements of both Commonwealth and North American students. HS courses include Integrated Math; Algebra; IGSCE Math; Algebra II /Trigonometry; Calculus,  English, Themes in English literature, World Lit; English Lit, Life Science, Earth Science; Biology; Physical Science; Chemistry; Physics , African History/Human Geography; National History/Introduction to Economics; Sociology; 20th Century History; World History; Economics Bible includes OT Study; NT Study; Bible Doctrine/Character Studies; Bible Doctrine/Inductive Bible Studies; Biblical Ethics/Islam and Cults; Apologetics/World Views , French all grades, physical education, computers. Electives: art, music, and a variety of other options; Sahel Academy makes provision for home schooling families.

Co-Curricular: Activities include Kids Club, Taekwondo, Sun Times Newspaper. Sports are a big part of life at Sahel Academy. Students play soccer during recess, after school, and at other times. Many students also like volleyball, and there have been organized tournaments, too. Sahel has had quite a few softball teams in recent years who have participated in tournaments held in Niamey and in Ouaga, Burkina Faso.

Facilities: a new classroom building opened 2002; all facilities are excellent.
